My life as a kid had embedded some deep core wounds which i had spent the most of my life at that point diving deeply into on the side of my hospitality career. And a chef’s job is not by far the most logical environment for healing.
I really wanted to be free from the suffering. Hospitality had been a vehicle for me personally to earn money, learn about the world & travel. On the side I would personally travel from your North of Australia in the wintertime season, for the southern parts for the summers focusing on farms between. It was a never-ending summer of finding people to learn different healing modalities & bodywork from, while employed in idyllic locations like the wilderness of Tasmania in eco lodges, the deserts of Australia.
I set my 1975 4WD Land Rover Series 3 with solar panels, 3 batteries, and kitchen within my trailer, and i also would go and do vision quests within the desert for 40 – two months asking them questions in deep contemplative states to discover answers about life no-one was able to help me with. I traveled All that mighty land called Australia over 20 years doing work in among the best restaurants in Australia and also the world.
I even worked in a fine dining restaurant inside the desert which was booked 2 weeks in advance & was the Sommelier selling wines up to Au$4400 per bottle! I am talking about, what a ride. Some of the those who own these places inspired me incredibly and that i cannot thank them enough. One chef, Stefano de Pieri wasn’t a qualified chef along with his very own T.V channel and among the best restaurant on earth. Mind blown I figured damn, you simply need passion in your life and motivation.

The greater I learnt about production of our foods, the more I realized how messed up things were. I took focus on a chicken-processing farm for six or seven weeks to really see exactly what is happening. What did I learn? We have been really disconnected to what is really happening. And once we have seen cuts of meat all cleaned and bleached in the supermarkets or sent to our establishments, what we should are missing rather than connecting to is perhaps all the suffering that accompany it. And I Also don’t just mean the animals, for certain that’s obvious. But those who function in these places have severe mental illness. They may be people who do not squeeze into society, cannot hold a conversation with “normal” folk. Cannot show up to operate all dressed sharp and keep it together. Nope, these people require our help.
